Winston-Salem NC rankingAccording to Mercer, a research and consulting company, Winston-Salem, NC is the cheapest American city for foreign workers. Moscow is the most expensive city in Europe.

The survey covers 214 cities across five continents and measures the comparative cost of over 200 items in each location, including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment. It is the world’s most comprehensive cost of living survey and is used to help multinational companies and governments determine compensation allowance for their expatriate employees.

Moscow is the forth most expensive place to live for foreign workers in the world; it is also the most expensive one in Europe.

New York ranks the highest in USA and takes the 27th place in the world ranking. Winston-Salem, North Carolina is the cheapest U.S. city for foreign workers, ranking 197th overall.
