The population of North Carolina grew 2.2 percent as of July 1, 2007. The state gained 190,000 new residents. The total population of North Carolina reached 9,061,032 people.
Nevada takes the first spot in terms of percentage growth, followed by Arizona, Utah, Idaho, and Georgia.
Texas takes the spot after North Carolina percentage wise, though numerically it's in the first place with 500,000 new residents.
California is in the second spot numerically with 300,000 new residents, though percentage wise it's in the 25th place.
