May Day - International Workers' Day - as we know it, is not celebrated in the United States (despite the fact that it traces its origin to May 1, 1886, when the American proletariat demanded an 8-hour work day should be implemented.) This year, May Day in the U.S. will be marked by marches across the country in the event named "A Day without Immigrants.)
Idea: immigrants will not work, study, sell, or buy anything on this day. Purpose: legalization of undocumented immigrants.
The traditional red color of May Day will be replaced by white: t-shirts, arm bands, etc.
