A Snapshot of America's Foreign-Born Population in 2005. According to the report, immigrants from Russia are trailing only Koreans in the number of self employed persons. At the same time, Russian immigrants are in the third place in the number of welfare recepients.
Enterpreneurs.
"While immigrants overall are not more
entrepreneurial than natives, immigrants from such countries as Korea, Russia,
and Iran are significantly more likely than natives to be self‑employed."
Welfare.
"Refugee‑sending countries, such as Russia and Vietnam, tend to use the welfare system a good deal."
