The North Carolina Museum of Art will be one of just three museums to host an exhibition of paintings by impressionist Claude Monet in 2006.
This is the first exhibition to focus on Monet's paintings of Normandy and the largest exhibition of Monet's work ever in the southeastern United States. Approximately 45 works will be displayed, borrowed from private collectors in US, Japan, and France.
The exhibition will open in Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco in June, move to Raleigh in mid-October, then move on to Cleveland Museum of Art in February 2007.
